Valentine's Days come 'n go,
I'm still waiting to be someone's paramour!
For me 14th of February is just another day for the celebration of bachelorhood. But specifically on this very day, I buy myself a bouquet of roses and a box of dark chocolates in order to congratulate myself for having adhered to the rigorous vows of celibacy, successfully. Just kidding...!!!Valentine's Day, as I believe, is a platform wherein every individual irrespective of one's religion takes the vows of timeless love. This day is celebrated in each and every country and has become a sine qua non for practicing and matured lovers. You may argue that May 1st is, as well, prevalent as Labour's Day throughout the world. But, let me make it clear that Labour's Day is 'observed' worldwide; whereas Valentine's Day is 'celebrated'.
But in most parts of India, some people, motivated by religious fanaticism, label Valentine's Day as
inappropriate for the sanctity and the traditional values of our Nation. Such attitude puts a Nation to shame. Being the legal and patriotic citizen, it is one's moral obligation to work for the betterment of his/her country. And we all know our duty well! There is no need of such politically motivated elements to go on rampaging flower shops, restaurants etc. and propagating hooliganism.My message to the aforementioned self-styled nannies, who take on to violent disorder, is to first get visits to the caves at Ajanta and Ellora, banned. Because, paintings and stone carvings present therein bear much more pornographic content than hosted by a website of similar genre. And if they can, they should try to get Kamasutra banned as well...and moreover, should try to mind their own goddamn business!
Warring factions should try to forget their animosity on this very day. Nations should offer a hand of friendship to their bitter rivals. Love is a potion which can work like an alchemist and change everything for the better. So why not utilize this day to it's fullest?!
