Chak De Phattey

Listed below are my favorite music videos. Gurpreet Ghuggi, in the first video, depicts in his inimitable style, the ruckus created by the relatives of the groom who come to attend the ceremony.

The second one is Kaun Banega Crorepati's theme song. It's lyrics is witty and the sequence is wonderfully chreographed.

This is another wonderful music video from Khosla Ka Ghosla - a bollywood movie which throws light on a social issue like illegal occupation of land.

Men of Courage

People say that biopics "are simply visual rendition of a true story", void of any message and leaves the audience with a sense of incompleteness. I disagree. If not more, biopics do go a long way in motivating an individual.

Most parents narrate stories from epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata so that their young ones can understand the essence of best practices by Rama and Krishna and emulate the same in their daily lives. Similarly, biopics go a long way in producing such an effect.

Guru (2007) and The Pursuit of Happyness (2006) are two examples of such films which prove that to leave a mark in this world the only key ingredient required is the individual's capability to win over unfavorable circumstances.

Guru (2007) featuring Abhishek Bachan is a good depiction of Dhirubhai Ambani's (Reliance Group of Industries) life. He started out as a school dropout and went on to become a businessman of great courage, capability, maturity and repute. He said that he is the master of his trade and will do everything dexterously in the said field of expertise. Inspite of being challenged by a rival businessman and print media, he comes out victorious and revives himself from bankruptcy.

I loved the last scene of the movie, Abhishek Bacha
n delivers perfectly at a court room before the jury and makes them realize that why should his group of industries be given the green flag. The judge gives him 5 minutes to put his point forth, which he does in 4 mins and 30 seconds. "A profit of 30 seconds", Abhishek remarks later. Touche!

The Pursuit of Happyness is another great movie of the aforementioned genre, depicting the life of Chris Gardner. It portrays his personal struggle of establishing himself as a stockbroker while managing fatherhood and homelessness. Forsaken by his wife, Gardner sets out on a journey of courage and anticipation with his son, Christopher. He lives in a Church during times of adversity when his net worth is less than $50.

But despite such odds, he studies for the exam of stock broker and makes his way into an investment firm. From here on he never turns back.

Both these movies will go a long way in inspiring and educating the masses. One thing common between the protagonists is that, they are men of steel - full of courage and determination. Adversities cannot shake them and they are always in a perfect state of mind. Such are the qualities of a true entrepreneur who takes risks in life to make it big. This is where these type of people differ from the common man. They have common sense par excellence and truly, courrage par juxtaposition!

Path to Nirvana

India is proud to be called the land of sages. Roots of major world religions are embedded in this holy country. India never attacked anyone, but sent messengers of peace to wary nations. It produced great warriors and sages who protected their motherland with their courage, penance and austerity.

Faith in religion can be seen at the banks of Sangam of the Ganga, the Yamuna
and the imaginary Saraswati river during the holy Kumbh Mela in Allahabad. This is the time when millions throng this place and government spends crores of rupees providing basic necessities to the pilgrims.

I do not question someone's faith, but I do feel bad to see money being drained on something very superstitious rath
er than being spent on people who are in dire need.

A Shivling is washed daily with pure milk, curd and ghee but who cares about providing a drop of milk to the malnutritioned populace. A beggar requesting alms is shooed away like a stray dog but a dead stone is shown all love and mercy. Helping someone in need is the greatest act of mankind. Only a human being is capable enough to love his fellow beings and help them, which no other animal on this planet is.

What I question is the blind faith which is even upon young generations. Parents should teach their children the art of charity and not that of draining precious eatables into potholes. I may sound vehement, but India can progress if superstition evaporates from the minds of one and all. Because superstition gives birth to casteism which blocks our sight of seeing everyone as equals and help them in need. The basic tenet of every religion is to teach about the oneness of God and the brotherhood of mankind. This single philosophy can change the perspective of not only Indians but of the people, the world over.

Every religion is pure and will continue helping individuals during time of need. It depends on us how we interpret religion and teach it to the new generation. Misinterpretation of religion takes it's toll over the innocent masses.

As can be seen in the picture alongside, a naga sadhu is refreshing himself with a puff of opium. For him this may be a path to Nirvana, rather than the marriage of his soul bride with God. We should try to be extra conscious with such messengers of God, who in the name of religion are bent to extortion.

Everything said and done, one can only be one with God by remembering the giver and thanking him profusely for every blessing He has showered on us foolish mortals and by being good to one's fellowmen. This is the only path to realize the immortal truth. God can never be wooed by following materialistic ways.

Windows XP to Macintosh OS X

Bored of the same old XP theme? Wanted a Mac since childhood but could not afford it? Worry no more. Point your browser to FlyakiteOSX and download the XP skinning package for free.

Install the software and transform your XP into Mac OS X. The software can be uninstalled whenever desired without any harm to the machine. I myself tried the same and was astounded by the amazing results!

Heights of human creativity

These are some of the best paintings, which I think, a human mind can produce. I received these and a lot more as part of email attachments. I chose the very best among them to depict how much creative a human being can be!

A pavement painting depicting a shark making it's way through the pavement. Amazing! Isn't it?

A beautiful illusion painting.

A heartrending sketch depicting poverty.

Humanity in present era.

I stumbled upon the aforementioned article by Nitasha Sharma at Hindustantimes.com which tickled my funny bone to an extent that I converted it into audio.

So listen to it and enjoy!
